Welcome to Our New Home Online

From all of us at SHARE, we are proud to welcome you to our new home online. For those of you familiar with our previous site, you will notice a few items that have stayed the same, though much has changed. The most obvious difference is the new design, though we have made many more invisible changes as well, all to better serve our efforts. With this new internet initiative, we aim to better connect with our members, volunteers, and other organizations. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions on how we can improve our on-going development project.
For those of you who are new to SHARE and our work, this is a great time to get to know us. SHARE approaches the protection of the environment from a unique perspective, that of sustainable development. The goals of sustainable development are to work with local groups and individuals to protect the environment on which they depend. Often for-profit groups have the most invested in their particular environment, giving them an intense incentive to preserve it. This is especially true for the tourism industry, perhaps one of the most influential and pervasive of all commerce in the developing world. It is becoming more and more evident to these industries, that without investing in their environment, they will lose the very item at the heart of their livelihood. Sustainable development recognizes the great potential that lies in these groups, and helps them use their collective abilities to preserve the endangered habitats of the world.
