SHARE and Corporate Social Responsibility Posted : 5th March, 2003
SHARE is working with the World Bank to promote education in Social and Environmental Responsibility among youth and university students globally. At present, The World Bank provides web-based courses on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Competitiveness for selected educators, government officials, and students.
Participants in this unique program include such renown institutions as: The Wharton Business School, The University of Pennsylvania, Harvard Business School, University of California- Berkley, The London School of Economics, FGV University in Brazil.
Zero Hunger
As part of his campaign against hunger in Brazil, His Excellency The President of Brazil, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, initiated the "Zero Hunger" program. To benefit the cause, Ocimar Versolato, famed Brazilian designer, has designed a line of t-shirts from which proceeds will go to the local NGO's involved in the work. SHARE proved a indispensable member of the efforts by helping to obtain the 3 million shirts needed. SHARE will also head up the program's expansion internationally.
SIM, Wharton Symposium Initiatives
SHARE support's this student initiative to improve understanding and awareness towards sustainable development in the business school. The Wharton Social Impact Management Initiative (SIM) is an important aspect of the work to educate the future leaders of business, it is thusly open to all University of Pennsylvania students.
SHARE and Real Estate Development
SHARE is working towards sustainable development on coastal areas around the world. Concentration is on Sustainable Tourism. How a corporation or local hotels can improve existing site or planned urbanizations on this fragile environment so as to retain the value of investments for a long time to come. SHARE staffs are experts on coastal recovery projects and sustainability using simple, creative, and relatively low cost methods.
